Flimsy and grossly overpriced

"Very disappointed with this product. Only good thing I can say about it is that it looks good from a distance. Flimsy material and very lightweight. I'd bought this to wear to the Cheltenham Race festival in March and I'm now hoping that the weather will be mild and still. On dog walks it has already proved ill-equipped to keep out the wind and it cannot handle any sustained period of time in even a light drizzle. I've bought better quality outdoor jackets from well know, high street 'outdoors' retailers for 2/3 less of the price. This is my first and last purchase from Schoffel. Keep marketing to the rich, urbanites and you'll do just fine. But as a genuine outdoor jacket for actual outdoor, rural use . . . steer clear!"

Not the usual standard

"This jacket looks very nice in the photos but I was so disappointed as soon as I lifted it out of the box. Very lightweight with no real substance. There is not really any "quilting" and I don't imagine that it would be very warm. The traditional leather trim is fake suide and looks/feels wrong. The jacket did not fit properly and was tight under the arms. First time I have purchased a Schoffel garment that has not met my expectations. Returned item."

Tight size

"I usually purchase an XL or sometimes 46 inch ad I'm currently a little overweight. I have a schoffel tweed shooting jacket sixr 44 which i can get into. I was very disappointed as this size 46 was more likecac40 when I tried it on. And now of course there are no larger jackets left."

Barrowden jacket

"I have a couple of schoffel items and I am used to their quality, this however was very poorly made and in no way worth even the reduced sale price let alone the full price. i expected much more. The size was too big considering I bought the the same size as my other items"

A very nice jacket

"I found the Schoffel range of jackets via Cordings but they didn't have this style in stock. I wanted a warm jacket and the shooting style were not quite my style for everyday use. This is well made, warm and stylish. The addition of a zip as well as poppers is a bonus. Overall I'm very pleased"

Lovely Jacket - but sizing is off. . .

"I was really pleased when it arrived and took to wearing the jacket straight away. I have worn Barbours for over 20 years and thought I would try a Schoffel as I have seen others wearing them. However, I felt the fit was on the slim side and after a day, realised there was no room to wear a thin jumper comfortably underneath. If I had not worn it that day I would have returned the jacket and opted for a bigger size, so whilst I bought it for the winter I will probably only get some wear out of it in the spring/early summer. The Barbour medium size fits me perfectly and allows for a jumper. I would like to purchase another, however, as the pricing is a lot more than the equivalent Barbour I will have to rethink."
